Milestones
When Tatsugoro Horikoshi returned home from a stay in the United States in the early 1960s, Japan was experiencing its first major economic upswing since the end of the Second World War. The automotive industry and shipbuilding were booming, and at the same time a whole range of other industries were enjoying full order books.
Mechanical engineering in particular is benefiting from this development and is reporting rapidly growing demand for state-of-the-art technology. Tatsugoro Horikoshi recognizes this early on and, when LUBE is founded in 1964, launches a product that is set to significantly advance the performance of domestic machine manufacturers and users in the years to come: Inspired by the latest technical developments in the United States, LUBE was the first company in Japan to offer an automated lubrication system for industrial machinery with “LUBE Matic”. This was the first of many milestones in the more than 60-year history of the LUBE Corporation...
